George Roy Dimmitt was born on April 9, 1892 in Uniontown, Kentucky to the late John Henry Dimmitt and the late Florence D. (Wilson) Dimmitt. He was the fourth of six children, Sadie Lee (Dimmitt) Cissell, John Edward Dimmitt, Aaron W. Dimmitt, William W. Dimmitt, and Laura May Dimmitt. George was also a World War I Veteran and part of the 809 Pioneer Infantry. He married Lucille D. Williams and they one child, Fannie Mae Dimmitt. The Lord called Uncle George home on December 10, 1952 at the age of 61 and he was laid to eternal rest at New Crown Cemetery in Indianapolis.
