Obituary Bismarck Tribune (March 17, 2012)
Elsie Pauline (Wahl) Diede, 88, died March 13, 2012, at Sheyenne Care Center, Valley City. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 19, at Bismarck Funeral Home. Interment will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 3 p.m., at Bismarck Funeral Home.

Elsie, the daughter of William and Christina (Bauder) Wahl, was born May 20, 1923, and grew up and attended school at Linton. She married Leonard Diede on Oct. 26, 1950, in Bismarck. They raised a family of six children and farmed near Wilton for about 45 years. They then moved to Bismarck until Leonardís passing on Sept. 27, 2004, after which Elsie moved to Valley City.

Elsie enjoyed reading, gardening, crocheting, baking, listening to music, singing at worship service and spending time with family and friends. Elsie enjoyed baking and preparing home-cooked meals for the community at the Wilton Cafe. It brought great joy to Elsie and special memories to those who knew her.

Elsie is survived by her six children, Linda Olheiser, Dickinson, Mark Diede, Corona, Calif., Valerie (Jeff) Licha, Columbia, S.C., Jennifer (Paul) Feist, Valley City, Perry (Doreen) Diede, Rochester, Minn., and Sandi (Randy) Rengstorf, Denver; her sister, Ester (Henry) Neibauer, Miles City, Mont.; 19 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; her sisters, Lundena (Adam) Talarski, Katie (Joe) Lacher and Adele (Ted) Wolfer; her brothers, John (Tillie) Wahl, William (Katherine) Wahl and Albert (Hilda) Wahl; and her parents.
