SUDDEN DEATH OF MRS. MARY E. BURNS

Mrs. Mary E. Burns, wife of T. Samuel Burns, of 17 Charles street, passed away at the Anna Jaques hospital Tuesday afternoon. She was taken to the hospital for a slight operation last Thursday and had apparently recovered, but complications developed.

Mrs. Burns was born in Needham, Mass., but resided in this city the most of her life. She was a woman of sterling character and easily made friends and kept them. She was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception and was connected with the Married Ladies' Sodality.

Left to survive are the husband, T. Samuel Burns; two sons, John W., of Lynn, and Robert S., of Brookline; one daughter, Miss Ella E. Burns, who resided at home; one brother, Charles A. Carroll of this city; two sisters, Mrs. Julia F. Douglass of this city and Mrs. Anthony Moynihan of Lynn; several nephews and nieces and numerous other relatives. A sister, Mrs. Sarah Jane Kilborn died about a year ago.

The funeral will be held from the home, 17 Charles street, followed by high mass of requiem at the Church of the Immaculate Conception Friday at 9 a.m.
