Death: 1924

Gospel preacher and college professor. Successful gospel preacher who preached in Illinois & Kentucky in the era after the Civil War. He spent time on the Executive Committee of the Foreign Christian Missionary Society and worked with the College of the Bible at the turn of the 20th Century. J. W. McGarvey said, "Prof. Benj. C. Deweese had been already added to the Faculty in 1894, and had proved himself a most thorough and painstaking instructor.
