Phyllis Biggs, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully at her Scotts Valley home at the age of 68. Loved ones were with her when she passed peacefully, following a battle with cancer.

Born in Glendale, California, she met the love of her life, Carl Biggs, while attending San Jose Bible College. The couple got married and moved to Santa Cruz in 1967 where they started their family. She was a resident of Santa Cruz County for 49 years

Phyllis will always be remembered for her dedication to her family and to her Lord Jesus Christ. She and Carl were longtime members of Santa Cruz Bible Church, where she was very active in children's ministry for many years, leading Vacation Bible School/Camp. She was also active in the worship ministry, leading the alto section and directing the choir.

Phyllis was also active in her children's academic and social activities, including numerous leadership roles in Girls Scouts and many hours spent volunteering in her kids' schools. She enjoyed traveling in the family RV with her family and visiting many beautiful locations across the country. She and Carl also enjoyed the many friends that were made along the way as members of the Santa Cruz Woodies. The annual wharf gathering, events, and road trips will forever be cherished memories for her loved ones.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Carl Biggs; her three daughters and her sons-in-law: Lisa and Paul Stewart, Lucie Olson, and Leanne and Jeff Oberst, her grandchildren: Anna and Joshua Olson, Brennan, Peyton, and Landon Stewart, and Jeffrey and Lori Oberst and great grandson, Zachery Oberst. She was preceded in death by her son, John Biggs and her sister Ellen Korte.

A ceremony to celebrate her life will be held at Santa Cruz Bible Church (440 Frederick Street Santa Cruz, CA. 95062) on Saturday, April 23rd beginning at 11am. She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Santa Cruz Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Santa Cruz Bible Church.
