Louise Clair Deutsch, nee Modaff, 80, of West Chicago, passed away Monday, April 17, 2006 at her home.
She was born September 25, 1925 in Wheaton, to the late Philip and Margaret (Forman) Modaff and graduated from Wheaton Central High School in 1943. Lived in Wheaton until 1954, when she and Chuck moved to West Chicago in 1955.
She was an active member of St. Mary's Church, and formerly employed by Parchment & Quill from 1977 to 1999, Volunteer for PADS, enjoyed helping in different ways at Turner School, St. Mary's School and Lincoln School, die-hard Cub fan, watching her grandchildren in their sports games, reading and crossword puzzles. Member of American Legion Unit 300 and Richardt VFW Auxiliary Post 8194, both of West Chicago.
Survived by her husband, Charles Deutsch, whom she married April 3. 1948; seven children, Chuck (Anne MacDonald) Deutsch III of West Chicago, Kathy (Paul) Slamar of Deer Park, IL, Tom (Kim Dirr) Deutsch of West Chicago, Pat (Dan) Darimont of Aurora, Don (Kami Schmitt) Deutsch of West Chicago, Debbie (Greg) Frommert of West Chicago and Terri (Rick) Kwasniewki of Franklin, WI; 14 grandchildren, Chuck (Cathy Cole) Deutsch III, Janet (Gary Brazeau) Deutsch, Chris Slamar, Bill, Beth and Melissa Deutsch, Christine and Nick Darimont, Brett and Sharon Deutsch, David and Michael Frommert and Amber and Andrea Kwasniewski; one great-grandson, Charles Deutsch IV; two sisters, Esther Trompeter and Florence Schmidt; and two brothers, Edward and Donald (Margaret) Modaff.
Preceded in death by her parents; three grandchildren, Mike Deutsch, Becky Deutsch and Shelli Deutsch; and two sisters, Anna Hoffman and Cora Baumann; and two brothers, Ray and John Wilbur Modaff.
Funeral Prayers will be on Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 9:30 AM from the Norris-Walen Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago and proceed to St. Mary's Church. Mass at 10:00 AM. Rev. Burke Master officiating. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 4-9 PM at the Norris-Walen Funeral Home.
