Kathryn Elizabeth Detrick Fleeger, 89, passed away Thursday (August 12, 2016) at the home of her daughter in Mt. Jewett.

Kathryn was born October 14, 1926, the daughter of Henry and Sophie Hackenberg Detrick. She attended St. Callistus School and graduated from Kane High School in 1944. On May 20, 1944, she married Floyd Fleeger who preceded her in death on February 15, 1993.

Kathryn was employed at various places throughout her life, beginning at her family's farm at a young age. She then worked at Holgate Brothers Company, James DeCamp Tire and Battery for 17 years and was an owner/partner at both Kane Bottling Works and Fleeger TV and Appliance.

She was a member of St. Callistus Roman Catholic Church and a former Altar Rosary Society member. Kathryn was a lifetime member of the Mountain Grange #1307 where she served as secretary for 45 years and treasurer for 20 years. She was a member of the McKean County Pomona Grange #53 where she served as secretary for 10 years and treasurer for 30 years as well as a Pennsylvania State and National Grange member. She was also a member of the Kane Senior Center and the Kinzua Fish and Wildlife Association. Kathryn enjoyed volunteering in numerous capacities.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Toth of Kane and Elizabeth Carpenter of Mount Jewett; grandchildren, Kassia Toth, Kayla Snyder, Allyson Carpenter (Garrett Baker) and Andrew Carpenter (Jessica Wykoff). Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and their families.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Francis Detrick in 1969; and a sister, Margaret Detrick Hallberg in 2015. Kathryn was the last member of her immediate Detrick family.

Friends will be received Sunday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc and on Monday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the gathering space at St. Callistus Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow with the Rev. Philip Pinczewski, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Callistus Cemetery.
