Ness City -- Mary Pfannenstiel, 97, passed away Jan. 27, 2013, at the Ness County Hospital, Ness City, Kan. She was born Jan. 11, 1915, in Ellis, Kan., the daughter of Clemens and Mary Lang Depperschmidt.
She was a homemaker and lifetime resident of Ness County.
On Aug. 20, 1940, she married Edgar Pfannenstiel. He preceded her in death Aug. 25, 1997.
She is survived by: her son, Keith Pfannenstiel (Paulette) of Lawrence; a daughter, Valarie Colburn (Randy) of Shawnee, Okla.; daughter-in-law, Anetta Pfannenstiel of Wichita; grandchildren, Cory, James, Gena, Jill, Lucas, Olivia, Lindsey, Hailey, Tatum; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Alex, Colton, Garret, Landon, Emma, Ivan, Tessa, Ava, Gage, Caris, Laken, Liam, Scarlett.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Pfannenstiel; brothers, John and George; sisters, Katie, Anna, Margaret, Linda, Martina.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City. Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Sacred Heart Church Ness City, Kan. Vigil and rosary service will be 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Sacred Heart Church, Ness City, Kan. Burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church.
