Bernice D. Clawson, 76, of Smithfield, died Saturday, January 18, 1992, at Logan Regional Hospital.

Born October 1, 1916, in Smithfield, a daughter of William R. Deppe Jr. and LaVina Corbridge. Married Carl C. Clawson, June 29, 1939, Logan LDS Temple. He died in 1971. She grew up in Smithfield, graduated from North Cache High School and attended Utah State University. She belonged to the Smithfield Lady Lions Club. Member LDS Church and had served as ward chorister, director of Singing Mothers, Primary teacher and held various other positions.

Survivors include one son, Richard C. Clawson, Smithfield; brother, Hazen W. Deppe, Salt Lake City; one sister, Mavis Bordero, Logan.

Funeral services Wednesday, January 22, 1992, 12:30 p.m. in the Smithfield Fourth Ward Chapel. Friends may call Tuesday evening 7 to 9 p.m., Nelson Funeral Home in Smithfield, 85 So. Main and at the church Wednesday, one hour prior to services. Burial: Logan City Cemetery
