Nellie Marie Churchill Lansing Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away February 3rd at the age of 83. Nellie was born May 6, 1929 in Owensboro, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Estil and Laura (Rice) Densford. She had been a member of Pilgrim Congregational church since 1959. She served as a volunteer for Lansing General Hospital as well as other organizations in the community and was very active in her Neighborhood Watch. The Lansing Police Department knew her as the "Cookie Lady". Nellie will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Goldie, Georgie, Hazel and Annabell; and her son, David James Churchill. Surviving to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Harlow; daughter-in-law, Vickie Churchill; grandchildren, Neele and Michael Churchill; and her sister, Bobbie McElwain. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 125 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Lansing 48912. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 5th from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing. For those desiring, contributions may be made in memory of Nellie to the American Cancer Society, 3100 West Rd., Bldg. B, Ste. 110, East Lansing, MI 48823.
