'He was born in Short Creek and moved on the place where he died 50 years ago, which at that time was a forest of timber, but with the labor of his hands and two brothers' and a father's, they cleared it up of the might oaks and created the beautiful home in which he died, and the rest of his brothers and sisters who are left to mourn his loss still reside.'
