Dennis - Alice Faye, 92, of Van, TX. Funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2005, at South Grand Lake Christian Church between Ketchum and Langley. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. in Tulsa at the Memorial Park Chapel with interment to follow. Mrs. Dennis died January 7, in Van. Alice Fay Dennis was born June 13, 1912, in Georgetown to the late Ira Eugene Harris and Mamie Catherine Speegle Harris. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. V. "Bill" Dennis and son-in-law, Jerry Percifield. Throughout her life she belonged to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and her current membership was with South Grand Lake Christian Church, where she was one of the charter members in August, 1998. She worked in every committee area of the church and was named an Elder Emeritus. Accomplishments included Family of the Year-Kings Highway Christian Church, Shreveport; Chaired for the Board of Elders at Langley Christian Church in Oklahoma; and Lay Person of the Year (1985) of the Church Women United Houston. She served on the steering Committee for the establishment of the Forest Park Christian Church in Tulsa, 1984. In 1985 the Northeast Area of the Christian Church presented her with the Distinguished Service Award for Outstanding Lay Leadership for the area; she was historian for the area NEADCO, now NEACCO, for over a decade. She was President of Lakeside Garden Club and Lake Bloomers. While a student at the University of Tulsa, she was awarded the Student Council award for Outstanding Woman Graduate, was the first woman to earn a Letterman's award at TU (on the swim team and basketball team), was football queen, Who's Who in Universities and Colleges, Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, charter member of Mortar Board and Senior Staff. She was a member of Phi Mu shere she served as President of Alumnae Chapters in Shreveport, Houston and Tulsa; was Texas Phi Mu Woman of the Year in 1975; Tulsa Phi Mu Outstanding Alumna in 1985; and was first President of Epsilon Gamma Alumnae Chapter Association. She later was Secretary and Editor of the newsletter. Survivors include daughters, Catherine Gayle Brandon, Mount Grove, MO and Patricia Percifeld, Van; brother, H.T. and Jeanne Harris, Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Gene Schrivener, Tyler, TX, Jim Schrivener and wife, Ginger, Mount Grove, MO, Pam Akin and husband Jay, San Antonio, Steve Percifield and wife, Kelly, Glenside, PA; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Zachary, and Parker Akin, San Antonio and Lillian, Connor and Holton Percifield, Glenside, PA. Donations to be made to the General Scholarship fund for the University of Tulsa in her name or to South Grand Lake Christian Church. There will be a Visitation at Moore's Rosewood Chapel at 5th and Harvard on Sunday from p.m. Moore's Rosewood, 744-1202
