She married William P. Denckla of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 2 Mar 1851 in New York City, New York, New York.
She was the mother of a daughter, Mary Caroline, whose life was lost at sea when the boat she was in burned off the coast of California on August 27, 1852.
Johnanna passed from this life on March 29, 1852.
