A memorial service will be held for Skip at 10 a.m., on Aug. 30, at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.

Skip was born at Ft. Bragg on Sept. 17, 1939. He grew up in Oroville, CA. He joined the Navy after graduating from Oroville High. While in the Navy he traveled to 33 countries serving aboard three ships. After completing his service with the Navy he attended Butte College where he began dating high school classmate Linda Lee. Soon after they were married.

Skip and Linda spent the remainder of their lives in Vacaville, CA., where they raised four children. Skip retired from Mare Island, he loved country music, spending weekends with his kids fishing, watching the 49ers and NASCAR.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, now the two of them will always be together; and by his brother, Ken deLaney.

Skip is survived by his mother, Marie deLaney; sisters, Ardy Martin and Sandy Tolliver; children, Ginny Ray, Dwayne Turner, Kathy Northrup, and Cheryl Zappetta; nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
