Clarissa Maud Lees passed away at the Converse County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. At the age of three she moved with her parents to Kansas. She was united in marriage to Chet Elmer Lees Aug. 4, 1898 in Cleveland, Kansas. To this union were born seven children. In 1903 they moved to Wyoming and lived near Pinedale where they operated the Overland Freight Line between Pinedale and Rock Springs for several years. They moved from Pinedale by covered wagon to Rock Springs in 1918 where they resided until 1920 when they moved to the Glendo and Douglas vicinity, where she lived until the time of her death. Preceding her in death were her husband, Chet Lees; one son, Bill, and two daughters, Rita, age 9 months, and Mrs. Harold Tennyson. She is survived by her son, Ollie Lees, of Norris, Mont.; three daughters, Mrs. Leo Adami of St. Ignatus, Mont., Mrs. Cora Cole of Douglas and Mrs. Mary Gillespie of Douglas; one sister, Mrs. Robert Graves; 33 grandchildren and 77 great-grandchildren.
