Mrs. Charlie Elizabeth Dearing, age 88, died at the Forrest Memorial Hospital in Forrest City Saturday afternoon at 1:30.
She had been a patient at Crestpark Retirement Inn and in very poor health the past 4 1/2 years.
Mrs. Dearing was born in Cross County, Arkansas, on June 5, 1886, and was the daughter of Tempe Gordy Nichols and John Nichols. She had lived her entire life in Cross and St. Francis Counties.
She was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church East of Colt.
Her husband Millard Dearing preceded her in death in 1967.
She leaves four sons: John Dearing of Wynne, xcalvin Dearing, O'Dell Dearing and Charlie M. Dearing, all of Forrest City and one daughter, Mrs. John Barksdale of Colt.
Also surving are 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services by Rev. Cloy Chapman assisted by Rev. Berlon Davis will be held at Stevens Funeral Home at 4 p.m. Tuesday and burial will be in the Forrest Park Cemetery.
