Carl Montraville Deardorff, 46 year old Audrain County Missouri farmer, died at 10 o'clock Tuesday night, at his home, north of Vandalia, Missouri. He had been critically ill for many months. Born in Neodesha, Kansas in 1886, he came with his parents to Missouri when he was a young boy, living with them on various Audrain County farms. After his marriage to Miss Pearl Boicourt of Martinsburg, Missouri they lived on a farm near Laddonia, Missouri until two years ago, when they moved to the present home located in Ralls County, Missouri. His wife and four children; Gladys, Hazel, Carl, and Harry survive at the home. He is also survived by his mother; Ada May Deardorff of Mexico, Missouri, a brother; Walter Orlando of Clare, Iowa and five sisters; Mrs Everett Boicourt(Beulah Lee) of Audrain County, Mrs James Widaman(Rosa Berthula)of Armstrong, Missouri, Mrs J.G. Languell of Fulton, Missouri, Mrs J.B. Hinten(Jessie) of Thompson, Missouri, and Mrs George Gray of Pasadena, California, also his mother-in-law; Mrs A.O. Boicourt of Martinsburg, Missouri. Mr Deardorff united with the Martinsburg Baptist Church many years ago and had continued his membership there. He was an upright, conscientious citizen, and an enterprising farmer. The funeral service was conducted at the home at 12:30 o'clock, Thursday afternoon, following which the body was taken to the Benton City Christian Church where another service was held. Burial was in the Benton City Cemetery.
