Patricia A. "Pat" DeMott, 77, of Bitely, MI and formerly of Bellevue, passed away September 19, 2011. Pat was born January 28, 1934 of Bellevue to Cyrus and Pauline (Hodges) Rugg. Pat graduated from Bellevue High School in 1952 and married Raymond DeMott on June 14 of the same year. The couple enjoyed 59 years of marriage. Pat was a cook at various places, and was a bartender at Ruggo's Bar for many years.
Pat loved to cook and crochet, especially mittens and hats for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed decorating Christmas cookies. Spending time with family and friends was vitally important to her.
Pat is survived by her loving husband, Raymond; four daughters, Connie (Rick) Call, Deb (Ron) Moon, Raye Marie (Larry) Caltrider, and Jackie (John Lilly) Black; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren, two sisters, Jeanette Criffeild and Sandra Palmer; two brothers, Harold Rugg and Gary Lee Rugg; her brother-in-law, David (Marilyn) DeMott, numerous nieces and nephews, and the extended Bitely family. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Donald Rugg and Fred Rugg.
At the request of the family, they will receive friends on Friday, September 23, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate Pat's life will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 24 at the funeral home, with her children, Raye Marie and Larry Caltrider officiating. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Toys For Tots or the American Red Cross Food Bank.
