Raymond DeMeester, son of Ryan DeMeester & Lucy Van Wingen. Husband of Grace Lois Londo DeMeester , father of two, grandpa of seven, great grandpa of six.

Following his time serving in the Army, Ray went to work in his Father's tool & die shop, which he later took over.

Ray loved to eat & cook. Daily, the meals served at his table included devotional readings from the Bible.

Picnics, family trips to the beach or fair, or just getting in the car & going for a ride-some of the memories I have of Uncle Ray.

Within the month before his daughter was to give birth to her fifth child, Ray was stricken with a severe stroke. He was paralyzed on one side & never able to fully recover. He rehabilitated & went to live in a nursing home, where he was able to receive the care he needed. Ray got around in his wheel chair & received visitors as well as went for outings, visits to his home or elsewhere. For a time while he was there, his mother in law, Irene Londo was also a resident there.

I remember when my own Mother Linda Londo , died-Uncle Ray was able to come to the funeral home & I remember his grief. Four months to the day after Mom died, Uncle Ray passed away. The year 1997 took two dynamic family members from us.
