Mrs. Jane (DeLoach) Baxley died Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at her residence in Varnville, South Carolina, after an extended illness.

Born June 13, 1922 in Varnville, she was the daughter of the late James Walker DeLoach and Winnie (Roberts) DeLoach. She had been active in the Fairfax County council of the Girl Scouts, in Virginia, and had retired from Mount Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria, Virginia, as the office manager in 1984. She was a member of Varnville First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Baxley was survived by her son, James M. Baxley (and wife Barbara); two daughters, Ann (Baxley) Follett (and husband Butch) and Margaret (Baxley) Billard (and husband William); two brothers, Thomas Ralph DeLoach (and wife Ruth) and Don Curtis DeLoach (and wife Grace); one sister, Elizabeth "Zan"(DeLoach) Bradley; one sister-in-law, Fredrica Golden DeLoach; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Baxley had been married, for sixty-seven years, to the late Bernice Aaron Baxley (who died on January 20, 2007).

Funeral services were on February 22, 2008 in the chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton, South Carolina, as conducted by Reverend Dr. Thomas Kelly. Burial followed in Sand Hill Cemetery in Varnville.
