Ogden – George DeBoer, Our loving Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather passed away peacefully February 14, 2013 and was reunited with his eternal sweetheart on Valentine's Day.
He was born February 11, 1916 in Harlingen, Netherlands to Sadie DeBoer and Hendrik DeBoer. He graduated from Weber High School and the Institute of Dry Cleaning in Philadelphia.
George married Mary Wilson on May 16, 1942 in Preston, ID; the marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple. He was a member of the LDS Church and served as Ward Finance Clerk for 20 years.
He served in the Army Air Corp as a Staff Sergeant for 3 years during WWII.
George was co- owner and manager of the Sanitary Laundry and Dry Cleaners. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and bowling.
George is survived by his children, Connie D. LaRose, Linda D. Bingham and Robert G. DeBoer (Robin); 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Mary, his wife of 48 years; sisters, Jenny VanDerlinde, Mary Newell; brother, John DeBoer and grandson, Clint DeBoer.
The family would like to thank the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home for all the love and care they showed to their father.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, February 17th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, February 18th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Graveside services will be held at 11a.m. on Monday, February 18, 2013 at
Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home.
