DAVIS - Departed this life, on the evening of December 15, 1900, after a short but painful illness, GEORGE F. DAVIS, son of George H. Davis, and brother of Mary E. Tolson.

Dearest brother, thou hast left me,
We thy loss most deeply feel,
But 'tis God that has bereft us -
He can all our sorrows heal.
God in His wisdom has recalled
The boon His love has given,
And though the body slumbers here
His soul is safe in Heaven.
BY HIS SISTER

Funeral will take place from his late residence, No. 1537 Hanover street, on Tuesday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, thence to William Street Independent Methodist Church. Friends of the deceased invited to attend.
