Reads as follows: Brother Aaron Davis was born Feb. 5th, 1872, departed this life December 12, 1938. Age 66 years, 19 months, 7 days. He was united in marriage to Florence Roach in 1899. To this union was born 11 children, 3 dead, 8 living. She departed this life in 1920. He was later married to Nancie Collins who still survives his death. He leaves to mourn his loss his companion, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 8 children, W. M. Davis and David Davis of La Follette, Clyde Davis, Caryville, Lee Davis, Marley, Albert Davis, Speedwell, Mrs. Walter Presley, Mrs. Edd Miller and Mrs. Harry Chapman of La Follette, and 16 grand-children, and a host of relatives and friends. He professed faith in Christ at an early age and joined the Primitive Baptist Church at Davis Chapel for which he remained a faithful member until death. He was a firm believer in God. A faithful worker in Sunday School and Church. Always striving for peace. He always had good advice for the young people. His talk was beneficial and worth listening too. Through all his sickness he bore it without complaint and often spoke of his home in heaven. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. But we believe our loss is his eternal gain. Funeral services and burial was at the Davis Chapel Cemetery where he will await the resurrection in the great Judgement Morning. Sleep on Dead Dad and take your Rest. God called you away He knows the best. We miss you so we can say. We'll meet again some happy day. Written by a son, Eld. Albert Davis.
