She graduated from New Castle High School. She was employed by Hartzell's, Rose and Sons, Country Casuals Tops and Bottoms in the Youngstown area stores. She served in the Women's Army Corps from 1942 to 1945 in Florence, Italy, with Headquarters Platoon as a tech 5. She and her husband were founding members of St. Mark's Eastern Orthodox Church in Liberty, Ohio. Her favorite hobby was baking bread every week at the church for many fundraisers. The church was her life and she was devoted to it and her family.

Relatives: a daughter and son-in-law, Roslyn A. and Andrew Sekula; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Sam D. and Cheryl Barkett, and Richard A. Barkett; a brother, Ronald J. Davis; two sisters, Carolyn Barkett and Elizabeth "Smaya" Shinn; four grandchildren, Dr. Stephanie Dorbish and her husband, Dr. Ron Dorbish, Natalie Sekula and Lauren Barkett, and David Barkett; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin Dorbish and Alexander Dorbish; and five brothers, Michael Davis, James Davis, Chris Davis, Stutz Davis and Peter Davis; three sisters, Haifa Ellis, Marie Bannon and Helen Orres; and a nephew, John James Davis.
