Mrs. Emmeline Davis Buchanan was born in Lancaster, Keokuk county, Iowa, May 10, 1840 and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Vivian Mullison of Marshall, MO on April 16, 1924, at the age of eighty three years, 11 months and 8 days.
In 1857 she was united in marriage to Charles Alexander Buchanan who died in Humeston, Iowa on November 20, 190*7. To this union was born eight children, two of whom died in infancy. The surviving children are James A. Buchanan of .... Iowa, Charles Edward Buchanan of Kansas City, MO, John Riley Buchanan of Huron, South Dakota; Mrs. Vivian Mullison of Marshall, MO, and Mrs. Ona Smith of Shenandoah, Iowa. A daughter, Mrs Ollie Henry died in 1898 at Cambria. She united with the Christian Church at Cambria in 1892 and transferred her membership to the church at Humeston when they moved here.
Funeral services were held here at the Christian church on Easter Sunday, April 20, conducted by Rev. Provan, pastor of the Presbyterian church at Leroy and burial made in Cambria cemetery.
