Southern Recorder, Milledgeville, Georgia, Tuesday Morning, November 18, 1834. Died, on the 8th inst, after forty days illness of typhus fever, at his residence in Morgan county, Mr. GRANT DAVIS, in the 50th year of his age. He was born in Wilkes county [sic], in this State [sic], in the year 1785. He was for the last thirty years, a zealous and exemplary member of the Baptist Church ; and died as he had lived, in the exercise of a firm, and unshaken faith in Christ ; often expressing in his last illness, a comfortable hope and joyful anticipation of a blessed immortality. He has left a wife and six children, together with numerous relatives and friends, and the Church of which he was a member, to mourn their irreparable loss.
