SHELBY, N.C. - Graveside services for Mr. C.L. "Bud" Davis of 3506 Bridges Dairy Road will be conducted at 4 p.m. today, Wednesday, June 25, in Chester Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Chad Irvin officiating.
Mr. Davis, 74, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Adam Davis and Olivene Jolly Davis. Mr. Davis retired from Over Nite Trucking in Gaffney with 23 years of service and was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Kingstown, N.C.
Survivors include five sons, Ralph Eugene Davis and his wife, Tracy, and Chuck Davis, all of Gaffney, Bobby Davis and his wife, Sherry, and Tommy J. Chapman, all of Shelby, and Dennis Davis and his wife, Tammy, of York; a daughter, Sonya D. Torres and her husband, Augustine, of Shelby; three brothers, Charles Davis and Ned Davis, both of Chester, and Hord Dean Davis of Winston-Salem; three sisters, Laura Austin of Chester, Stella Hutchins of Gastonia and Barbara Ledford of Lowrys; his caregiver, Darlene Grant; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Darrell Davis; a daughter, Peggy Davis; and two sisters, Wilene Davis and Peggy Davis.
