He was born in Beaverton on Nov. 19, 1935 to Kenneth and Rose (Hooper) Davis.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army, and retired from Dow Chemical Company in Midland. He had lived in Gladwin County his entire life, and was a member of Beaverton Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sons, Lonnie Davis of Bay City, Walter Davis of Lansing, Donald (Christine) Davis of St. Louis; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two nieces; two nephews; brother, Stanley Davis; and sister, Beulah Hover, both of Beaverton; dear friend, Alice Bluntschly. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Norman Davis.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010 at Beaverton Baptist Church with Pastor Jeremy Smith officiating. He was laid to rest at Beaverton Cemetery, Beaverton. Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton was in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beaverton Baptist Church.
