Helen Lorene Homer, 72, of Aredale, passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 25, 2012.

Helen was born on October 24, 1939 to Edgar and Lora Davis of Aredale, in Hampton Iowa. She graduated from Hansell High School in 1957 and on June 21, 1958, Helen was married to Virgil Homer of Aredale. Together they had two children, four grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Throughout her life she had many occupations. Including a waitress at Drierdales, a book keeper at United Hydraulics and was self employed for many years in the city of Aredale. Including, "Grandma's".

Helen enjoyed many things in life including, horseback riding, golf, word find/crossword puzzles and dancing. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren and great granddaughter. The greatest joy Helen will have is being reunited with all her family and friends at home in Heaven.

Helen is survived by her husband, Virgil of 54 years; two sons, Scott (Karan) Homer, Fredricksburg, VA and Matt Homer, Aredale. Four grandchildren, Jesse Homer, Sheffield; Michele (Rob) Schmidt, Thornton; Lora Homer, Fredricksburg, VA and William Homer, Fredricksburg, VA. One great granddaughter, Cecelia Schmidt, Thornton. Two sisters, Eileen Wilkinson, Hampton and Gene (Norman) Brown, Dumont. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her including her best friend, Sara Lumley.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edgar and mother, Lora.

Burial will take place in the Dumont Cemetery.
