Captain Charles B(Barnabus) Davis, died at his home on Mt Zoar Street last night, aged 70 years. The deceased came to Elmira from Williamsport, PA in 1871 and, until a few years ago, was a Foreman in the Northern Central Shops, being obliged to relinquish his position owning to rheumatism contracted during the war.
He was a member of Reno Post, G.A.R. of Williamsport, from which he took out his company of the 131st Pennsylvania Volunteers.
The widow, four sons and one daughter survive - John, Charles, George, Edward and Mary.
Interment in the Fulton Street Cemetery.
