Mildred M. Davis, 81, of Onawa, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 19, 1997, at the Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa following a long illness.

Mrs. Davis was born April 10, 1916, in Blencoe, Iowa, the daughter of Claude and Anna Belle (Holstlaw) Huff. She was raised in the Blencoe area and graduated from Blencoe High School in 1934. She married Lee Davis on July 24, 1933, in LeMars, Iowa. He died October 17, 1994, in Onawa.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Onawa and was active in the women's church groups. She was a member of the Friend-ship Birthday Club and the American Legion Auxiliary #129. She had been employed with Moon's Variety, Onawa Rexal Drug and Stangel Pharmacy.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Beverly and Roland Moore of Sioux City; a son and his wife, Charles and Patricia Davis of Elk River, Minnesota; five grandsons; two granddaughters; one great granddaughter; and one sister-in-law, Ethel Huff of Blencoe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Raymond and Paul Huff; and one sister-in-law, Bernadine Huff.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 21, 1997, at First Christian Church, Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor Donald R. Ludwick officiating. The organist, Mrs. Jack Jordan, played the selection, "Beyond the Sunset". The congregational hymn was "Amazing Grace".

Casket bearers were Brian Moore, Jeff Moore, Michael Moore, Nathan Davis, Anthony Davis, Jim Johnson, and Norman Huff.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
