Alva Davis, 85 of Blackwell, Oklahoma was the son of Samuel E. and Ora Ula (Moore) Davis. He was born September 16, 1920 in Platte City, Missouri and died Saturday June 3, 2006 at Integris Blackwell Regional Hospital Blackwell, Oklahoma.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday June 7, 2006 at the Church of Christ in Blackwell, Oklahoma with the Rev. Lanny Jobe officiating, interment will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home in Blackwell, Oklahoma.
Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ of Blackwell, Oklahoma in care of Dugger Funeral Home, 301 W. Blackwell Ave, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
Alva graduated from high school in Elk Fall, Kansas, and served in World War II in the United States Army. He was a member of the Church of Christ of Blackwell and a U. S. Mail Letter carrier in Blackwell for 35 years. Alva was a resident of Blackwell since 1947.
He married Marie Agnes (Shroyer) Thompson on July 31, 1994 at the Church of Christ in Blackwell, Oklahoma.
He is attributed as a Godly Man, Godly Father, Godly Grandfather and a Godly Husband who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He loved working with the young people in his church, reading his bible, gardening, and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of the home; his sons Keith Davis, Ponca City, Oklahoma, Carl Davis, Mustang, Oklahoma; his step daughter, Donna Thompson; his sister, Clara Ward; grandchildren Dawn and Tyler; great grandchildren, Rabeca, Gavin, and Braden.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Annabelle Davis; his daughter, Carol Cook; his brothers, Robert Davis, Frank Davis, John Davis; and his sister, Emma.
