SACRED to the MEMORY/ of/ HYDER A. DAVIE/ The second son of/ Genl. William Richardson Davie/ He was born/ on the 29th of October 1786./ and departed this life/ on the 17th of June 1848./ Faithful in the discharge of all the duties/ of life as husband, father and neighbour/ His memory/ Will ever be embalmed in the hearts of/ His friends, upright, just and true./ The frankness of his nature and kindness/ Of his heart added grace/ To his manly virtues./ This monument to the memory of a/ Revered parent is erected by the/ Filial piety and consecrated/ By the tears of his only child,/ Julia A. Bedon./ Boyne & Sprowl, Col'a./
