Sarah Roxeanna's father was James Davidson, he was a union soldier during the Civil War. James was a private in Company F, 1st Tennessee Infantry USA. He enlisted on August 9, 1862 at Montgomery, Tennessee and mustered out with his regiment on September 17, 1864 at Nashville, TN. James died in 1866 at the age of 42 from a disease he contracted during the war; his wife Hannah Peters Davidson was left a widow with 11 children, the youngest was James Clark who was only six months old, the other 10 children were all girls. Francis was oldest at 19 and Sarah Roxeanna was 17. Sarah's siblings:
