He was born on April 20, 1966 at Hot Springs, the son of Kenneth Loyd Davidson and Bonnie Garner Davidson. He was preceded in death by his father.
He formerly worked as a logger and presently owned and operated Davidson Grocery in Amity. He attended the Amity Assembly of God Church and enjoyed playing and singing gospel music with his friends and family. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. A loving father, grandfather and brother, the greatest joy in his life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. A wonderful friend to many, he loved being a help to others. He was an active member of the Amity Chamber of Commerce and the Amity Volunteer Fire Department. Joel will be deeply missed by all who knew and dearly loved him.
He is survived by four children and their spouses, Brandon and Megan Davidson of Amity, Sid Siegfried of McGhee, Sadie Siegfried of Amity and Jackie and Hunter McGough of Caddo Gap; his loving mother, Bonnie Davidson of Amity; four grandchildren, Beau McGough, Gunner McGough, Riley Siegfried and Hallie Siegfried; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Jimmy Buck of Glenwood and Lana and Robert Vanbibber of Lake Hamilton; numerous nieces and nephews; and a multitude of very special friends.
Services were held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 24, 2014 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. David Walker and Bro. Bob Wiyott officiating.
Interment was in Jones Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jason Watson, B. J. Johns, Blake Forga, Charles Ducote, Nathan McAnally, Hunter McGough, David Thrash and Dean Porter.
