Barbara, age 80, passed away on Thursday at HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born the daughter of James & Janet (Bell) Cady. Barbara graduated in 1950 from the University of Chicago with a liberal arts major. She married Robert DaVee in Chicago. Barbara was an editor/copywriter at Grant-Jacoby in Chicago from 1955-1965 and a freelance writer from 1965-1975, allowing her to work at home while her children were young. In 1978, she began a career in real estate in Chicago with Beliard Gordon and later for Rubloft from which she retired. Barbara is survived by two sons, Robert Rink (Jenny) of Mineral Point, WI and James of Fitchburg, WI; and a grandson, Charlie DaVee. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; and three sisters, Jessie Stewart, Iris Wasson and Ruth Bergstrom. Private services were held for Barbara. Barbara loved Chicago: the people, the restaurants, the architecture, and the culture.
