PORTSMOUTH— Cola Earl Daughtry, 85, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002. Mr. Daughtry was a native of North Carolina, served in the Army during World War II, then worked in Supship, Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of Court Street Baptist Church, a 50-year member of Western Branch Masonic Lodge No. 189, a charter member of Scottish Rite of Freemason 32nd degree, Port Norfolk Royal Arch Chapter No. 36, Loyal Order of Moose No. 898, charter member of Portsmouth Anglers Club, and sat on the board of the Portsmouth YMCA. Mr. Daughtry was the widower of Margueritte W. Daughtry. He is survived by two nieces, Margueritte Ketcham, Cindy Cocoran; five great-nephews, Earl Daughtry, Daniel W. Snyder, Michael Scott Keene, Edward L. Sawyer II and Matthew Cola Keene. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, with interment in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 403 Westmoreland Drive immediately following interment. Memorial contributions may be made to the Portsmouth YMCA.
