Died, of Paralysis in Effingham County, Georgia on the 16th of February, 1876.
Mr. Benjamin Dasher, Aged 72 years, 3 months and 8 days.

Bro. Dasher suffered but a few days. On Monday he was engaged at his work as usual; ate a hearty dinner, and shortly after eating, was taken with a paralytic stroke, which soon prevented him from speaking, and soon after he became unconscious, continuing to grow weaker until Wednesday morning between ten and eleven o'clock when he breathed his last. Bro. Dasher was a faithful member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church; he joined the church in his youth, was one of the first class of catechumens confirmed by Rev. C. F. Burgman at Ebenezer. Twenty years ago, when we came to the Ebenezer charge, (to which Zion belongs) we found him a member of the board of elders, which office he held up to the time of his death. He was a useful member of that board; useful in the Sabbath-school; useful in the prayer meeting, earnestly praying for the prosperity of the church and the conversion of sinners. He was one of the most liberal supporters of the ministry, and all the enterprises of the church. Oh" how deeply will Zion feel the loss of so efficient and pious a member. But his work on earth is done; the Lord said it is enough, come up higher. Bro. Dasher leaves an aged companion, six children, twenty-five grand-children, and three great grand-children, with many other relatives and friends to mourn his departure. On Thursday, the 17th, his mortal remains were interred in the cemetery at Zion church, and a funeral sermon preached by the writer to a large and sorrowing congregation. Sleep on, dear brother, till God shall bid thee rise. PASTOR
