Frank Dale Darrow, 51, of Hudson, died at 6:40 p.m. Thursday (May 13, 2004) at his home surrounded by family and friends.
He was born in Chicago on May 6, 1953, the son of Luther Franklin and Emma Jean Adkins Darrow. He married Jan E. Troxel on March 17, 1989 at Bloomington. She survives.
Other survivors include his father; one daughter, Alissa Anne; two sons, Luther Allen and Clay Daniel; one brother, Dan (Carol) Darrow; three sisters, Lola (Dan) Augstin, Anna Darrow and Connie (Gary) Schwartz; four nephews, Jason (Alisa) Michalski, Christopher (Lisa) Troxel, Mark Troxel and Scott Palokat; six nieces, Jean Michalski, Mary Beth (Charles) Burgis, Suzanne Troxel, Heather Troxel, Tracee (Mike) Creemens, Theresa Troxel and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
His mother and one nephew, Matthew Troxel, preceded him in death.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1972 to 1978. After attending ISU, he went to work as a diesel mechanic for Cummins Mid-States Power in Normal, where he continued to work until his death. He was a frequent volunteer at the Hudson Elementary School.
Frank enjoyed blues music, the Cubs, a good cigar and the company of his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
