Gladys C. Barrick 86, of Carlisle, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, in Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle.
Born Wednesday, May 11, 1921, in Lower Frankford Township, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Emma C. (Lay) Darr and the widow of Paul W. Barrick, who died May 11, 2006.
Gladys was a seamstress and she enjoyed gardening and sewing.
She is survived by her daughter, Paulette C. (and her husband, Ron) Statler of Carlisle; her grandsons, Jeffrey B. Barrick and Douglas W. Barrick, both of Carlisle, Gregory E. Statler of Newville and Christopher L. Statler of North Potomac, Md.; a great-granddaughter, Keaira Jones of Newville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne W. Barrick, four brothers, Ray H., Lenus S., Ruben A. and Lee John Darr; and four sisters, Cleo M. Barrick, Orca F. Hertzler, Verna R. Wilson and Fay E. J. Sweger.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. David P. Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
