Virginia Chamberlin Darnell, 83, died Monday, May 28, 2012 at the Methodist Hospice Residence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mallory Chamberlin and Laura Goodbar Chamberlin Wunderlich and by her sister, Frances Chamberlin Pugh. She is survived by her brother, Mallory Chamberlin Jr. (Martha) of Dallas, TX and her sister, Elizabeth Chamberlin Lyon of Memphis. She also leaves two nieces, Virginia Grissom Bradley (Larry) of Birmingham, AL and Laura Lyon Sampietro (Michael) of Memphis, and four nephews, William Robert Grissom of Birmingham, John Edward Lyon Jr. (Tonya) of Byhalia, MS, David Mallory Lyon (Lisa) of Ashland, MS and Robert Joseph Lyon of Bartlett, TN as well as many great nieces and nephews. Services will be held at two o'clock on Thursday, May 31 at The Church of the Holy Communion where Virginia was a dedicated member. There will be a reception and visitation prior to the service in Cheney Parish Hall beginning at one o'clock. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be sent to The Church of the Holy Communion or to the charity of the donor's choice.
