Mrs. Harry E. Danz, Jr. nee Marjorie Voelkel of Fredericksburg, Texas passed away in the Knopp Nursing Home in Fredericksburg on Thursday, July 23rd, 2015 at the age of 89 years. She was born May 4th, 1926 in Fredericksburg, Texas, the daughter of August “Gus” Voelkel and Malinda Pieper Voelkel, married Harry Edward Danz, Jr. on May 17th, 1947 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fredericksburg.

Marjorie will be dearly missed by her sons, relatives and friends that she has left to cherish her memories. She has always been the life of the party with her vibrant personality and great sense of humor, especially her one liner jokes. She loved to laugh and make people laugh. In her earlier days she and Harry visited the local dance halls and danced the night away with their friends. Her favorites were swing bands like The Bob Wills and Asleep at the Wheel. She loved her three sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren and always looked forward to seeing them.


Preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry, sister, Maureen Weber, and by a brother, Oscar “Dickie” Voelkel.

Survivors are her three, Rodney J. Danz of Austin, Mark and his wife, Margaret Danz of Dripping Springs and David and his partner, Richard Trusty of Austin, four grandchildren, Susan Danz, Brian Danz, Megan Danz, Mary Kate and husband, Christopher Moore, two great grandchildren, Rebecca Oehrlein and Roston Moore, sister in law, Isabel, Mrs. Oscar “Dickie” Voelkel of Austin.

Vigil-Rosary services will be held on Sunday evening at 6:00 P. M. in the Schaetter Funeral Home in Fredericksburg.

Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, July 27th, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fredericksburg, with Monsignor Enda McKenna officiating.

Graveside services and interment will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fredericksburg.

Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Memorial Masses, or to the charity of their choice.

Visitation for Marjorie Danz will be on Sunday from 5 to 7:00 P. M. and on Monday morning from 7:30 to 10:45 A.M. in the Schaetter Funeral Home in Fredericksburg.
