Mrs. Cora Ellen Dalton, former resident of Flat River, died Jan 21 1966 in Cape Girardeau, MO, at the age of 68. Her husband, Melvin Dalton, preceded her in death. She was born March 5 1897 at Coffman, MO and was a daughter of the late John and Cora (Simpson) Covington.

Surviving children are: John Dalton and Mrs. Vernon (Carol) Rhodes, both of Cape Girardeau. Other survivors are two grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer Covington of Chaffee, Mo., and Claude Covington of River Rouge, Mich; three sisters, Anna Newberry of St. Louis, Jennie Humphrey of Knob Lick and Eva Graff of Granite City, IL.

The body was in state at the Caldwell Funeral Home in Flat River until Monday, Jan 24, when services were conducted at 2 pm at the Leadington Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. Don Jones of Cape Girardeau officiated and was assisted by the Rev. Frank Guinta. Interment was is Parkview Cemetery.
