Alice P. Dale
Alice P. Dale, of 1101 Salt Springs Road, died yesterday at her home.
She was born in Norwood and attended Potsdam High School. Mrs. Dale taught on the faculty of Westfield High School for two years, before moving to Syracuse in 1928. She was a graduate of Syracuse University, Class of 1924. Mrs. Dale was an active member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and was a permanent alumni secretary and member of its executive board and grounds committee.
Mrs. Dale was a member of St. Paul’s Cathedral Altar Society and a charter member of its Group 9. She was also corresponding secretary and treasurer of St. Paul’s Altar Society and taught Sunday School there. She was an active member of the DAR, and a member of the Colony of New England Women and the Daughters of the American Colonists.
Surviving are her husband, Dewight C. Dale; one son, Richard P. Dale of Seaford, Del.; one daughter, Mrs. Robert W. Haines of Kildeer, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. John Coppie of Miami, Fla., and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Fairchild and Meech DeWitt Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. William George officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens.
Calling hours are 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.
