She was born on November 18, 1919 in Philadelphia, PA, to Carl and Elsie Dahlberg. Dorothy was an only child who grew up as part of the Dahlberg family from Ferndale and Evergreen.
She married Herb Munson in 1941, and the couple lived on a farm in Pleasant Valley. There they raised four children, and were very active in their community. Herb and Dorothy moved to Laurel in 1966 and Dorothy lived out the rest of her years in Whatcom County. Herb preceded her in death in 1985.
Being a child of the Depression, Dorothy loved to share stories of her childhood, and she had an amazing memory, never forgetting a name or a birthday. Dorothy enjoyed music, and was always whistling and singing. She had a way of making everyone feel like family, and was a precious wife and mother who lived her life for the people that she loved. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, January 28th from 3:00-9:00 PM at Moles-Greenacres Funeral Home. A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held on Saturday, January 29th at 2:00 PM at Moles-Greenacres Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made in Dorothy's name to The Lighthouse Mission or the Salvation Army.
