LeRoy A. Dahlberg - age 88, of Laurens, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.
LeRoy Alfred Dahlberg was born November 23, 1928, near Laurens, Iowa. He was the son of Alfred and Edith (Tidlund) Dahlberg. LeRoy attended county schools and went on to graduate from Laurens High School in 1947. He was especially proud of the fact that he was a member of the undefeated Laurens High School football team. On May 7, 1949, LeRoy married Georgette Harris in Minnesota. The couple settled on the family farm near Laurens. LeRoy farmed and worked at Positech as a machinist and then as an inspector, retiring in 1994. Georgette passed away in 1991 and LeRoy was lucky enough to find a second love, Helen Baker. They spent eleven years together before Helen’s passing.
LeRoy enjoyed farming and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Roxanne Kilbride of Des Moines; Jerry (Pat) Dahlberg of Wyoming, IA; Nancy Kirsch (Pat Kirsch) of Laurens; Rhonda (Loren) Weber of Sheridan, WY and Kathy (Mike) Wiley of Laurens; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and a sister, Marion Peters of Spencer.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, wife Georgette; Helen Barker; grandsons, Mark Kirsch and Bryce Wiley; brothers, Edward and Carl Dahlberg and his beloved dog, Willie.
