Dorothy LaRue Daggert, 95, of Sterling, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at Sterling Pavilion. She taught high school for many years.
Mrs. Daggert was born July 5, 1915, in Moberly, MO., the daughter of Harry A. and Mabel M. (Moore) LaRue. She served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946 as a lieutenant JG. She married Oliver C. Daggert on Sept. 2, 1950, in Columbia, Mo. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1998. She was a member of First Christian Church of Sterling.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Leslie (James) Smith, of West Olive, Mich., and Scottsdale, Ariz.; two step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Evelyn LaRue; and one brother, G. Wallace LaRue.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling, with the Rev. David Yonker of First Christian Church of Sterling officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established to PEO Sisterhood, Illinois Cottery College Scholarship Fund, and First Christian Church of Sterling.
