Marvin (Dutch) Dabel, 76, died June 27 at the St. John's Hospital in Jackson, Wyo.
Funeral services were conducted July 1 at the Thayne Stake Center in Thayne Wyo. with burial in the Thayne Cemetery.
He was born July 29, 1909 in Freedom, Wyo. to August and Sarah Isabelle Snyder Dabel. He married Margaret LaVern Heaps Riggs on June 12, 1949 at Jackson Hole, Wyo.
He attended school in Freedom Wyo. and worked for the telephone company prior to going into the service. He served in the South Pacific during WWII. He also served one term as a council member for the town of Thayne.
He was involved in local business for many years which included operation of the Peter Pan Cafe in Thayne, the American Theatre in Thayne with his brother Cecil. He was a guide on the Snake river as long as his health permitted. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by a stepson Darrel Riggs, Rock Springs, Wyo; five sisters and six brothers, Mrs Ruth Lancaster, Mrs Leone Schwab both of Afton; Mrs Sam (Verda) Helm, Smoot; Mrs Edward (Calpurnia) Knutti, Salt Lake City; Mrs Colleen Windley, Salt Lake City; Cecil Dabel, Vernon Dabel and J.R. Dabel all of Afton; Ronald Dabel, Smoot; Floyd Dabel and Norman Dabel, of Jackson.
