Marjorie Naomi Dunn Baker, 83, departed this earthly life on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Grace Living Center in Edmond to join her husband Glenn in heaven. She was born on January 29, 1924 in Oklahoma City to Oran James and Clara May Riley Dunn. She graduated from Arcadia High School in 1941. She married Glenn Emory Baker on April 25, 1942 in Arcadia. She was a stay-at-home wife and mother until her three sons reached their teenage years, at which time she began working as a Dental Assistant. She eventually worked for, and retired from, the U.S. Census Bureau. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Edmond for more than forty years, where she had been active in the Women's Society and the Emmanuel Sunday School Class. She was also a Disciple Bible Study Scholar. She was active in the Arcadia Alumni Association and a Life Member of the Arcadia Historical Preservation Society. She was an avid genealogy researcher and proud of authoring an early day Arcadia history book titled "Remember Arcadia." She was a cancer survivor. Her parents, husband, and numerous other family members and friends precede her in death. She leaves behind many family members including three sons, Richard E. Baker of Oklahoma City, Dr. Ronald D. and wife Mary Baker of St. Albans, WV, and Donald L. Baker of Edmond; six grandchildren, Dr. Angela and husband Alden Ozment of Longview, TX, Daniel and wife Sarah Baker of Arlington, TX, Christopher Baker of Arlington, TX, Amy Baker of Edmond, Natalie Baker of St. Albans, WV, and Aaron and wife Samara Baker of Lexington, KY; and six great-grandchildren, Alex, Anna, and Abby of Longview, TX, and Justin, Jacob, and Joey of Edmond; one sister, Barbara and husband Ralph Thomas of Tahlequah, OK; one brother, Jim and wife Rose Dunn of Newalla, OK; and many nieces, nephews, and a host of loving friends.
