Wife Of Former Lumberman Laid To Rest In Winterfield Cemetery Sunday

Lillian Amelia Cook was born May 14, 1874, in Otterville, Ontario, Canada, the youngest daughter of John and Amelia Cutler. Two brothers and one sister have preceded her in death.

She departed this life January 26, 1951, at the home of her son, John, at Long Lake, after an illness of several years, the last two of which she was confined entirely to her bed.

She was united in marriage to Peter Bradt, in 1896, to this union was born one son, Cleo, and one daughter, Ruby, all having preceded her in death.

She was later married to John Cook sons and four daughters.

She has made her home in the vicinity of Harrison the past 30 years.

Mrs. Cook was a great lover of nature and spent a big part of her life with her husband in the lumber camps of northern Michigan.

To know her was to love her. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

During her long illness she was a patient sufferer, holding fast to her faith in god.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, John cook, four sons, John and Russell, of Harrison, Arnold and Gerritt of Pontiac, four daughters, Merrie Compton, of Beaverton, Marjie Rodabaugh, Arlene Coleman and Ina Gibbs, all of Flint; one brother, Edmund Cutler, of Marion, 32 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, January 28, from the Highway Tabernacle at Harrison with Rev. Howard Pratt and Rev. Gerald Brady officiating. Interment was made in Winterfield Township cemetery.

A loving one from us is gone,
A voice we loved is stilled
A place is vacant in our home
